It’s school holiday time and the City of Stonnington has loads of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.
From films in parks to arts and crafts – there is plenty to discover in Stonnington during summer. Some of the highlights include:
Summer lights and Christmas Brights
Central Park will be home to an Insta-worthy series of neon characters on display for ten days of Summer Lights and Christmas Brights (15-24 December).
Venture through the gardens with your family and friends and discover these fun and playful installations, lighting up the gardens from dusk.
Family movie afternoons
Starting Sunday, 9 January 2022, we're excited to present Green Screen – a free sustainability focused, family friendly film series!
Over four weekends in January in Malvern Gardens and Central Park, enjoy a selection of films in some of our most beautiful parks and gardens. View films and locations.
Play Backyard Cricket and help support education. National Backyard Cricket is an opportunity to take time out with your family and friends to enjoy a game of cricket in your backyard, in your street, at the beach or your local sports ground, while raising funds to level the global playing field in education. Visit our libraries or enjoy one of our Christmas Story times in the Square.
During summer, Stonnington Libraries are taking part in the Big Summer Read program to keep kids (0-18 years) reading over summer and keep their literacy levels up over summer. Keep track of your reading (or listening) and have fun at the same time with the Beanstack app. Download the app.
