Stonnington's Strategic Planning Unit is responsible for the development of land use and planning policies and strategies; and administering and reviewing the Stonnington Planning Scheme including amendments to the scheme.
Planning schemes set the direction for the use, development, and protection of land within the municipality.
Structure Plans for Activity Centres, Urban Design Frameworks and specific theme studies are prepared to assist in and underpin the strategic planning process.
Council is committed to the recognition and protection of Stonnington’s highly valued heritage. A heritage place can include a site, a building, a group of buildings, a structure, a garden or other places of natural or cultural significance.
