The Melbourne Rugby Union FC juniors, with support from the senior players, enjoyed a ‘Try Rugby Day’ with Melbourne Rebels’ players Joe Pincus and Jeral Kelton.
The activity at Orrong-Romanis Reserve on 13 February introduced local boys and girls to the game through a variety of passing drills, tackling drills and evasive games and techniques.
“It’s such a thrill for the kids to get an opportunity to play with Melbourne Rebels players at a clinic like this. Joe Pincus and Jeral Skelton were fantastic, they were really involved and approachable,” said MRUFC Junior Coordinator, Michelle Iezzi.
New players are welcome at all ages: with teams ranging fromU6 up to U18s. The 2022 season will also include new competitions in girls tackle 7s and the introduction of boys 7s tournaments during the school holidays.
