Parks and Leisure Australia have nominated City of Stonnington’s ‘Keeping Stonnington Connected’ for their Community Based Initiative of the Year.
The program included a range of initiatives designed to keep the Stonnington community going through the COVID lockdowns and re-emerge thriving on the other side.
Some of the initiatives were:
More than 100,000 Stonnington residents were reached in some way by one or more of the initiatives as part of the overall program.
The Community Based Initiative of the Year winner will be announced along with the other categories’ winners at the SPORTENG Awards Event on Thursday 9 June.
We acknowledge we are meeting on the Traditional Lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the East Kulin Nations and pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging. We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We acknowledge their living connection to Country, relationship with the land and all living things extending back tens of thousands of years.
