History Centre

Stonnington Libraries and the Stonnington History Centre are currently closed until Monday 13 April, with the possibility of this being extended. We hope this action will help curb the spread of COVID-19 in the community and that our doors will be re-open soon.

All our programs and events will cease during this time. Our eLibrary is always open with thousands of items available to download, stream and read.  If you haven't already, it's a great time to join our libraries online and we will get your membership out to you as soon as we can.

The Stonnington History Centre is a branch of the Stonnington Library and Information Service and is housed at Northbrook, located behind Malvern Library. We run an exciting exhibition and events program aimed at adults and school children, and occasional tours of the building.

Tours of the History Centre and Malvern Town Hall (the latter with Mayor Cr Steve Stefanopoulos) will be held as part of the National Trust of Australia Heritage Festival in May. Book online or contact the Stonnington History Centre for more information.

History Matters is a series of free seminars on a range of history topics led by members of our Stonnington History Centre team and industry experts.

All sessions take place at the Stonnington History Centre.
