Strength based classes are designed to improve lean muscle mass and bone density using weights like barbells, weight plates and bodyweight movements.

Les Mills Body Pump

 

BODYPUMP is a total body workout that will burn calories, shape and tone your entire body, increase core strength and improve bone health. Your instructor will coach you through the scientifically-backed moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own!

Duration: 30 & 45 minutes | Intensity: Moderate to Hard

Circuit
A motivating workout with a mix of cardio, strength and core exercises on a wide variety of equipment, in a station-to-station format. Take it at your own pace and your intensity level
HIIT45
Experience high energy interval training. Participants will use mixed equipment types to get a full body hard core workout! Skill level: Intermediate/Advanced
Max Strength
Increase functional and core strength and improve muscle tone using a combination of bars, dumbbells, kettlebells and bodyweight exercises
Max Combo
MAX out with our Combo class with the lot! Come prepared for this HIIT and MAX Strength hybrid session to provide you with an all over cardiovascular and strength building calorie burning blast!

Les Mills Grit Series

The LES MILLS GRIT series is a 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, designed to improve strength, cardiovascular fitness and build lean muscle. This workout uses barbell, weight plate and bodyweight exercises to blast all major muscle groups. LES MILLS GRIT takes
cutting-edge HIIT and combines it with powerful music and inspirational coaches who will be down on the floor with you, motivating you to go harder to get fit, fast.

GRIT Strength: uses barbells, weight plates and body weight training to build lean muscle.

GRIT Cardio: uses bodyweight training like plyometrics and cardio movements to challenge your fitness

GRIT Athletic: combines GRIT Strength and Cardio with sports inspired movements

Strong Nation

STRONG Nation uses fast-paced rhythms like EDM, Hip-Hop, and fusion genres like Moombahton to get you 100% focused on the moves instead of counting reps. STRONG Nation combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training moves synced to original music that has been specifically designed to match every single move. Every squat, every lunge, every burpee is driven by the music, helping you make it to that last rep, and maybe even five more.

Les Mills Body Step

 


In a BODYSTEP workout you can expect a mixture of upbeat, rhythmic stepping, with squat and lunge patterns to work the legs. Combine this with movements like burpees, push ups and weight plate exercises, and the result is a fun, uplifting, full-body workout! Don’t worry, there’s heaps of options so that everyone leaves feeling successful. We play invigorating, hit music and inject a whole lot of fun and personality along the way.

Boxing

Focusing on correct boxing technique and incorporating skills, drills and agility work. This class is a full body workout designed to get your heart pumping and the endorphins flowing.

Zumba Fitness

A dance fitness workout set to Latin & International rhythms. Try Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia & more! Perfect for dancers and non-dancers alike.

Zumba Gold/Toning

Zumba Gold/Toning is low impact and simple dance fitness workout. You will use light hand weights to tone and shape your body. This class is perfect if you are just starting out and for older adults.

Wellbeing Classes
Wellbeing classes like Yoga and Mat Pilates are designed to calm and center the mind-body, including functional core training and stretching.

Mat Pilates

Increase mind-body awareness through the practice of Mat Pilates. Improve posture, functional strength, balance, flexibility, coordination and performance. Feel longer, leaner and more relaxed.

Yoga

An ancient process to enhance body and mind. You’ll learn the main postures (asanas), flexibility, basic breathing techniques (pranayama) and relaxation. Our traditionally trained teachers will carefully guide you through your practice.

Strong Flow Yoga

A combination of vinyasa (dynamic sequences with synchronised breath-movement) and long holds in key asanas / postures. Challenge your body and mind while building strength & flexibility physically and mentally.

Meditation

Can help relieve stress and create a peaceful and clear mind. Take care of your physical, mental and emotional health during these turbulent times. Suitable for beginners and experienced meditators

Aqua Fitness Classes
Aqua classes build strength and aerobic fitness with a variety movements using aqua dumbbells, noodles and body weight move. Aqua classes include shallow water (chest to shoulder height) and deep water (suspended with floatation belt).

Aqua Deep Water

In this deep-water aqua class, you will challenge your fitness and strength using water resistance to build muscle and lose weight. This class is no impact and perfect for runners and off-season athletes.

SwimFIT

In this swimming-based workout you will develop your cardiovascular conditioning and stroke power. Swim more efficiently and get fitter with our expert instructors who will give you feedback on your technique. You must be confident swimmer to join this class.

Aqua for Active Adults

Aqua for Active Adults is specifically designed for beginner exercisers and older adults. The low impact movements combined with muscle and bone strengthening exercise will prompt long lasting health all while in a fun and social atmosphere.

Small Group Training
Small Group Training (SGT) is a 30-minute session run by a gym instructor. SGT classes are exclusive to Active Fitness and Active Complete members only, with a maximum of six participants

Core SGT
Tone and strengthen the muscles the make up the 'core'.  Designed to improve posture, strength and stability through the mid-section, pelvic floor and more

Core and balance

Core SGT plus the added bonus of some essential balance exercises too. Great for all ages.
Cycle SGT
Get those legs moving and increase your cardiovascular fitness in this cycle session. Image yourself on a leisurely afternoon cycle down beach road with friends or cycling the Tour de France in the yellow jersey
Foam rolling and stretching SGT
These classes help release tension in the muscles, relieve muscle soreness and improve flexibility and range of motion
Functional SGT
Functional exercises train your muscles to work together and prepare them for daily tasks by simulating common movements you might do at home, at work or in sports
HIIT SGT
High Intensity Interval Training uses repeated short high intensity intervals of exercise followed by short rest periods to get you fit fast!  Take it at your own pace
Strength SGT
Improve your technique and get strong doing these major lifts such as squats, presses and deadlifts

Class etiquette

  • Wear appropriate clothes for your class, including sports shoes if appropriate.
  • Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your class to settle in. If you're late, you may not be able to train.
  • Please bring a gym towel, mat and water bottle. Water fountains are available.
  • Let your instructor know of any past or present injuries so that they can provide modifications for you.
  • Please return equipment after use. 
  • Switch your phone to silent during class. If you bring your phone into the program room, it is at your own risk.

You must be 16 years of age or older to attend a fitness class.
