The Harold Holt Swim Centre Learn to Swim Program offers swimming lessons for infants, preschool and school aged children, right through to adults.

Our program builds confidence and enjoyment of the water for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

We take pride in creating a learning environment that is fun, safe and professional, and caters to the needs of each student.

All teachers are AUSTSWIM qualified, with some licensed to teach multiple disciplines, including:

  • infants
  • adults
  • access all abilities classes.

Learn to Swim modification

If you would like to change your lesson day, time or level, this can be done in person or over the phone with our Customer Service Team.

To update your debit details, please fill out a modification form upon your next visit to the Centre. Due to PCI Data Security requirements, we are unable to accept these via email or over the phone.

Learn to Swim cancellation

Cancellation requests must be submitted at least 5 days prior to the next scheduled direct debit payment, otherwise the next payment will be deducted in full.

Direct Debit Payments
I understand that the debits are ongoing until the Centre receives a ‘Cancellation Form’. Please refer to the ‘Direct Debit Request Service Agreement’ for full details.

Three consecutive declined debits
If a family has had a declined debit, the Centre will SMS the parent/guardian to pay the outstanding amount at reception. The lessons will be cancelled if payment has not been made after the third consecutive declined debit.

Entitlements
The Direct Debit entitles the student and one accompanying adult to unlimited entry to aquatic areas at Harold Holt Swim Centre and Prahran Aquatic Centre any time outside of their lesson (excludes warm water pool at Harold Holt, spas, sauna and steam room).

Suspension
Direct Debit members may suspend their membership up to 28 days per calendar year at no cost. To suspend a Learn to Swim membership, the member must complete a Suspension Form which is available on our website and submit it a minimum of 5 days prior to the commencement of the suspension. Retrospective or back dated suspensions will not be approved without a medical certificate. Minimum suspension period is 7 days.

Cancellation
Notice of cancellation must be received in by completing a Cancellation Form which is available on our website. Notification of cancellation must be submitted 5 days prior to the next debit date or the next payment will be deducted in full.

Make-up lessons
You will receive four make-up lessons per calendar year to use for any missed lessons. You must notify us prior to the lesson missed to receive a make-up lesson. Make-up lessons can only be booked 6 days in advance.

Centre entry
Learn to Swim membership cards must be presented to reception upon entry to the Centre. A replacement fee will be charged for lost or stolen cards.

Watch Around Water Policy
All children under the age of ten must be actively supervised and wearing a wristband at all times when in the facility including during a swim lesson. Replacement silicone wristbands are available for purchase at reception. View Watch Around Water policy details.

Price Increases or changes of conditions
We will provide you with 14 days written notice of any price increase or change to the Enrolment Terms and Conditions.

Change of class
If you need to change your class day, time, teacher or level, this can be done in person or via phone.

Agreement

The participant or member agrees to attend the Harold Holt Swim Centre and Prahran Aquatic Centre at their own risk and release Council from all claims resulting from any damage, loss, death or injury in connection with the premises except to the extent that the Council is negligent (only applies if participant is aged 18 years and over).

The participant or member agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Stonnington against all claims resulting from any damage, loss, death, injury in connection with Harold Hold Swim Centre and Prahran Aquatic Centre and the use and occupation of Harold Holt Swim Centre and Prahran Aquatic Centre except to the extent that the Council is negligent (only applies if participant is aged 18 years and over).

Should the participant or the participant's child require emergency medical treatment whilst participating in the program, I hereby authorise and consent to such treatment as deemed necessary, at their own expense.

Management reserves the right to suspend or expel any member/participant failing to comply with the Centre rules, or for conduct Management deems as improper and/or detrimental to the best interests of the Centre.

Privacy statement
The information provided as part of this application will be used by the City of Stonnington’s Aquatic Services to assist in the provision, planning and development of Aquatic Services within the municipality. Information provided by you will only be used for the purposes for which it was collected. The information provided will not be disclosed to any outside organisation or third party. Individuals about whom 'personal information' is provided in this Application may apply to the City of Stonnington’s Privacy Officer on telephone number 8290 1333 for access to or correction of the information.

Direct Debit Request Service Agreement

Definitions

Account means the financial institution account held at your financial institution from which we are authorised to arrange for funds to be debited.

Agreement means this Direct Debit Request Service Agreement between you and us.

Business day means a day other than a Saturday or a Sunday or an Australian public holiday.

Debit day means the day that the payment by you is due to us.

Debit payment means the particular transaction where a debit is made.

Direct Debit Request means the Direct Debit Request between you and us.

Us or we means (City of Stonnington) you have authorised by signing a direct debit request.

My and you means (City of Stonnington) you have authorised by signing a direct debit request.

Your financial institution is the financial institution where you hold the financial institution account that you have authorised us to withdraw the funds.  
1. Debiting your
account
1.1 By signing this Direct Debit Request, you have authorised us to arrange for funds to be debited from your financial institution account. You should refer to the Direct Debit Request and this agreement for the terms of the arrangement between you and us.

1.2 We will arrange for funds to be debited from your account as authorised in the Direct Debit Request.

1.3 If the debit day falls on a day that is not a business day, we may direct your financial institution to debit your account on the following business day. If you are unsure about which day your account has or will be debited you should ask your financial institution.
2. Changes by us 2.1 We may vary any details of this agreement or a direct debit request at any time by giving you at least fourteen (14) days’ written notice.
3. Changes by you 3.1 Subject to 3.2 and 3.3, you may change the arrangements under the direct debit request by contacting us on 8290 1678.

3.2 If you wish to suspend your membership payments, you need to fill out a Suspension Form available on our website and submit it a minimum of five (5) days before the next debit day. Suspensions are available on all memberships. Members receive 28 days suspension per financial year at no cost. After the free suspension period has been used, members may suspend further at a cost of $0.35 cents per day - minimum of seven (7) days. Total suspension period is up to 182 days, which includes both free and charged periods. Longer suspensions or suspensions for learn to swim enrolments may be considered for medical reasons, with an accompanying medical certificate (except Learn to Swim enrolments who receive 4 weeks free per calendar year).

3.3 You may also cancel your membership or learn to swim enrolment and authority for us to debit your account at any time by filling out a Cancellation Form available on our website and submit it a minimum of five (5) days before the next debit day. This notice should be given to us in the first instance.
4. Your obligations

4.1 It is your responsibility to ensure that there are sufficient cleared funds available in your account to allow a debit payment to be made in accordance with the Direct Debit Request.

4.2 If there are insufficient finds cleared funds in your account to meet a debit payment:

a. you may be charged a fee and/or interest by your financial institution;

b. you may also incur fees or charges imposed or incurred by us; and

c. you must arrange for the debit payment to be made by another method or arrange for sufficient cleared funds to be in your account by an agreed time so that we can process the debit payment.

4.3 You should check your account statement to verify that the amounts debited from your account are correct.

5. Dispute 5.1 If you believe that there has been an error in debiting your account, you should notify us directly on 8290 1678 (Aquatic Services - City of Stonnington) and confirm that notice in writing with us as soon as possible so that we can resolve your query more quickly.

5.2 If we conclude as a result of our investigations that your account had been incorrectly debited we will respond to your query by arranging for your financial institution to adjust your account (including interest and changes) accordingly. We will also notify you in writing of the amount your account has been adjusted.

5.3 If we conclude as a result of our investigations that your account has not been incorrectly debited we will respond to your query by providing you with reasons and any evidence of this finding.

5.4 Any queries you may have about any error made in debiting your account should be directed to us in the first instance so that we can attempt to resolve the matter between us and you. If we cannot resolve the matter you can still refer it to your financial institution which will obtain details from you of the disputed transaction and may lodge a claim on your behalf.
 6. Accounts You should check:

a. with your financial institution whether direct debiting is available from your account as direct debiting is not available on all accounts by financial institutions.

b. your account details which you have provided to us are correct by checking them against a recent account statement

c. with your financial institution before completing the direct debit request if you have any queries about how to complete the direct debit request.
7. Confidentiality 7.1 We will keep any information (including your account details) in your direct debit request confidential. We will make reasonable efforts to keep any such information that we have about you secure and then ensure that any of our employees or agents who have access to information about you do not make any unauthorised use, modification, reproduction or disclosure of that information.

7.2 We will only discuss information that we have about you:

a. to the extent specifically required by law; or

b. for the purposes of this agreement (including disclosing information in connection with a query or claim).
8. Notice 8.1 If you wish to notify us in writing about anything relating to the agreement, you should write to:

8.3 Any notice will be deemed to have been received two business days after it is posted.
