Malvern Library and Stonnington History Centre, temporary closure 17 & 18 September 2026

Due to construction works, the Malvern Library and Stonnington History Centre will be closed from Thursday 17 to Friday 18 September 2026. There will be no library or history services or programs on these days.

Malvern Library will reopen on Saturday 19 September 2026.

While we’re closed:

items may be returned through the return chutes
eLibrary services are available
visit our other libraries - we have libraries at Malvern East, Prahran and South Yarra.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Public holiday closure, 25 September 2026

All libraries and the Stonnington History Centre will be closed on Friday 25 September 2026 for the Friday before the AFL Grand Final public holiday.

Our libraries will reopen on Saturday 26 September.

Stonnington History Centre Building Refurbishment Works

From late June until September 2026, the Stonnington History Centre will be undergoing construction works to improve accessibility access to the building. More information.

Parking Services: Digital parking permits have arrived in Stonnington and the Parking Services team will be hosting free information sessions in our libraries for residents who need extra help joining and navigating the new online ePermit system.
