Toorak/South Yarra Library reopening

The Toorak/South Yarra Library reopened on Monday 2 September with all the usual library services, resources and collections. The entrance has been rebuilt and a new lift installed to make visiting the library easier for everyone.

With the Library back in business, all your favourite programs will return including Storytime and Rhymetime, Chess Club, and Chatty Cafe. We're excited to welcome you back and look forward to seeing you soon.

Also from 2 September, the Study@Greville will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1pm to 5pm. Bring your device to connect to Wi-Fi and make use of print, copy and scan services. There are ample study and work areas alongside a boutique collection of books.

Have your say on the Draft Libraries Plan 2022-26

Based on your feedback, we've developed a draft Libraries Plan 2024-26 and want to hear what you think. The plan will guide the continued development of our library services over the coming years.

We are now inviting you to review the draft plan and provide your feedback by 8 September.

Public holiday, Friday 27 September 2024

Our libraries and the Stonnington History Centre will be closed on Friday 27 September for the Friday before the AFL Grand Final public holiday.

Return chutes will stay open and regular hours will resume on Saturday 28 September.

While our libraries are closed, visit our eLibrary for digital collections including eBooks, ePress, movies, music and more.

Aged care reform information hub

During September and October, the Toorak/South Yarra Library is hosting an aged care reform information hub. Visit your local hub to find out more about aged care, access resources and provide feedback.

Our friendly team can support you to:

  • access information about aged care including changes that are underway
  • provide feedback about aged care and what quality aged care means to you.

40 years of Medicare display

To mark the 40th anniversary of Medicare and showcase its history, the Department of Health and Aged Care has launched a pop-up display in libraries across Australia.

Visit the Phoenix Park Library until 11 September and check out our historical #40YearsOfMedicare display. You’ll find information on Medicare’s history and current Medicare services. For more information visit the 40 years of Medicare Display page.
