Meeting room hire
Stonnington Library and Information Service has bookable spaces within its libraries for community and commercial use.
Library meeting rooms offer private and quiet spaces and are ideal for meetings, seminars, training sessions and workshops. These rooms are unable to support booking requests for hire relating to parties, private functions and/or serving of meals.
They are well equipped with kitchenette facilities. They are available for hire during library opening hours, including early evenings and weekends.
No storage of items or equipment is permitted outside the Hire Period.

Our libraries are well served by public transport, with trams and/or train stations nearby. On-site car parking is limited however there is some parking available in neighbouring streets.
Access for people with limited mobility is provided via ramps at all building entrances and by passenger lifts at the Malvern and Toorak/South Yarra libraries.
All furniture and equipment remains the property of the City of Stonnington and must not be removed or relocated outside the facility.
Wifi is available in our libraries provided you agree to the terms and conditions of use set by the City of Stonnington.
You are welcome to make your own arrangements for audiovisual equipment and catering.

To hire a meeting room:
- you must book at least 5 business days in advance
- payment must be received 5 business days prior to the date of the booking
Cancellations may be made up to 14 business days prior to the date of the booking. Cancellations made with less than 14 days' notice will incur the full cost of the booking.
For regular hirers, invoices will be issued monthly, with payment required in advance of bookings.
You may book up to ten hours per week.
Tentative bookings are not accepted for casual hire. We will accept tentative bookings for proposed regular use, and will hold them for a maximum of 14 days.

Public Liability Insurance
All hirers are required to be covered by Public Liability Insurance.
Individuals and informal community groups may be covered under the Council's Public Liability Insurance at no additional cost, by indicating this requirement on the application form.
All other groups, including commercial hirers and individuals or groups undertaking physical activities (eg yoga), must provide a current copy of the Certificate of Currency with their application.
