Propose a program or event
Are you looking to deliver a program or event through our libraries?
Individuals, organisations, community groups and local businesses are welcome to propose programs and events to be delivered through our libraries that benefit the Stonnington community.
These can include:
- author talks
- information sessions
- book launches
- creative workshops
- digital literacy sessions
Proposals can be submitted at any time and will be reviewed three times a year in March, June and October. Applicants will be notified by our Programming Team the month following each review period (e.g. April for March round of proposals). Due to high demand, not all proposals can be scheduled, but suitable events may be placed on a waitlist for future programming.

FAQs
When can I expect to hear back about my expression of interest?
Assessments will take place the month following (ie April for March round of EOIs) and applicants will be notified shortly after.
Where do I get more information about the Working with Children Check?
All external presenters must have a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) to deliver events and programs in our libraries. You can apply for a WWCC through the Victorian Government's Working with Children Check website. Please note there is a fee associated with this application.
How are decisions made about program or event proposals?
Proposed programs or events are assessed according to various criteria, which may include: the suitability of the program within wider library programming, the availability of library resources to support the program or event, the direct benefit to our community, previous experience delivering similar events and/or timing constraints.
What happens if my proposal is not successful?
If your proposal is not successful, you will be notified by email.
You may wish to hire a meeting room at our libraries but please note that the library will be unable to otherwise support the promotion or delivery of this event.
You may also wish to consider applying for a Council grant to support the delivery of your event. Visit the Council’s Community Grants website for more information.
