If you regularly bike ride in or through Stonnington and would like to help us improve our bike network, we would love to hear from you.
In 2026, we’re partnering with the Transport Accident Commission to run smart bike light trial that uses award-winning See.Sense bike lights and technology to capture data on bike riding experiences in Stonnington.
To run the trial, we’re on the lookout for up to 100 regular bike riders to use the smart bike light for 12 months.
The smart bike light, attached to your bike frame, instantly captures ride data such as swerving, braking, the road surface and cycling routes. Using a smart phone app, participants can also log information such as near-miss locations.
What we learn will help us understand bike rider experiences across different roads, paths and infrastructure in Stonnington, particularly:
These insights will inform future planning and upgrades to our bike network.
If this sounds like something you’d like to be involved in visit our Light Insights Trial page to learn more and to apply.
Applications close 5pm Monday 23 February.
