What’s Your Story? is a writing competition presented by Stonnington Library and Information Service as part of the annual literary festival, [untitled]: our writers, readers and stories.  

The competition opens Saturday 1 August 2020 and closes Tuesday 15 September 2020.

The competition is open to Victorian residents. 

Prizes are awarded for Short Story, Poetry and Creative Writing.

Entries must be submitted online. All entries must be received by 11.59PM on 15 September.  Entries submitted after this date will not be accepted.

Winners will be notified via phone or email by Friday 6 November 2020 and announced at the launch of [untitled] Literary Festival. Winners will be given the opportunity to speak about or read their work during the literary festival.

Categories and Prizes

Poetry – Adult
For: Anyone over the age of 18 years.
Guidelines: Maximum 40 lines. 
Prize: $500.

Short story - Adult
For: Anyone over the age of 18 years.
Guidelines: 1000 word limit. 
Prize: $500.
Submit your entry

Creative story writing, 5 to 12 years
For: Students aged 5 to 12 years who live or go to school in Stonnington.
Guidelines: 500 word limit.  The entry can be fiction or inspired by real events experienced by the author.
Prize: $150 book voucher.

Creative story writing, 13 to 18 years
For: Students aged 13 to 18 years who live, work or go to school in Stonnington.
Guidelines: 750 word limit.  The entry can be fiction or inspired by real events experienced by the author.
Prize: $250 book voucher.
