In Conversation with Clare Wright: A Monument of One’s Own
Join us this Senior and History Month for an “In Conversation” event with Professor Clare Wright OAM. One of Australia’s most influential historians and our library patron, Claire will explore the stories behind Victoria’s monuments and the inspiration for her acclaimed project, A Monument of One’s Own.
Clare will share the origins of this groundbreaking initiative and discuss the power of statues in shaping public memory. She will invite us to consider whose stories are told, and whose remain overlooked, in our public spaces. This is a unique opportunity to engage with the ideas and passions of a historian who has dedicated her career to uncovering the lost and forgotten pages of Australian history.
