The Stonnington Thematic Environmental History: Post-war Addendum (April 2025) explores the history and development across Stonnington during the postwar period (1945-2000) and provides the context for future heritage studies and assessments.
Council engaged Simon Reeves of Built Heritage to develop the Stonnington Thematic Environmental History: Post-war Addendum (April 2025) to broaden the historical understanding of the post-war period across the municipality.
Themes within the Post-war Addendum demonstrate how key patterns of development and historical activities influenced Stonnington, and includes themes of modernist architecture, high-density living, migrant and LGBTIQA+ communities, retailing and commercial activity, sports and leisure, arts and culture, and more.
