Looking for trails to walk, run or cycle to get active and get your steps up?

We've come up with a selection of trails to help you clock up some kilometres and take in the sights of the local neighbourhood. We also have several fully accessible trails, audited by Victoria Walks, and easy pram walks.

Accessible trails and pram walks

Urban Forest Accessible Walk (1.4 km / 30 mins)

This walk is accessible for everyone. It is easy to do by foot, pushing a pram, in a wheelchair or with any other mobility aid.

This charming accessible walk or roll through a green urban oasis features a bushland setting with mature native plants and established wetlands. It is great for prams and mobility aid users.

Princes and Victoria Gardens Walk (2.16 km / 1 hour)

Easy walk. Great for any fitness level. Easily-accessible paths. Suitable for all skill levels.

Here are two wonderful yet entirely different gardens to explore. Ideal for pushing a pram, or a casual or brisk walk, they are linked by the grand London Plane Tree avenue that is Murray Street.

The modern accessible pathways and facilities of Princes Gardens and the established features of the traditional Victoria Gardens are worth exploring. Both are great pram walks, and Princes Gardens has been designed with mobility aid users in mind.

Zelman Cowen Park Accessible Walk (2.2 km / 1 hour)

Easy walk. Great for any fit level. Easily accessible paths. Suitable for all skill levels.

For a spacious and green walking or rolling outing ideal for prams and mobility aids, visit the sporting fields of Zelman Cowen Park. There is always plenty of activity to see.

Zelman Cowen Park has an accessible playground, curving walking paths, shade trees and other attractive plants.

Central Park and Hedgeley Dene Gardens (3.45 km / 1 hour 30 mins)

Great for any fitness level. Easily-accessible paths. Suitable for all skill levels.

By linking two iconic City of Stonnington urban parklands, this excellent walk caters for all ages. It follows firm, smooth and wide walking paths through splendid gardens and open green spaces.

This 3.5km return walk loops its way around the Edwardian gardens of Central Park and along the linear Hedgeley Dene Gardens. They are linked by pedestrian traffic lights and a short suburban street.

Como Park and River Walk (4.9 km / 1 hour 30 mins)

Easy walk. Great for any fitness level.

This lovely 5km pram-friendly walk follows a pretty Yarra River bend along bushy paths before a loop around Grange Rd Wetlands. It returns to the marvellous open spaces of Como Park North and South.

There are informative signs along the way that describe in text or connect you to audio via Listening Stations to local descriptions and history.

Malvern Gardens to Malvern Cricket Ground return (5 km / 6,500 steps)

Easy walk. Starting at our beautiful Malvern Public Gardens and walking by two of our local sports reserves. Include a lap around each sport oval to complete your 5km.

On the way you can grab a coffee at one of our local shops around Malvern Town Hall.

High Street - Glenferrie Road - Caulfield Park return (6 km / 8,000 steps)

Easy. Great for any fitness level. Suitable for all skill levels.

Start the journey by walking along High Street shops and then head to Union Street Gardens. Continue your walk to Caulfield Park to enjoy the amazing facilities this park has to offer.

On your walk back, you will pass through Malvern Central Shopping Centre and Glenferrie Road shops, where you can grab a coffee or a takeaway treat.

This diverse walk will showcase some of Stonnington's beautiful architecture, leafy reserves and lively shopping precinct. There is something for everyone along this walk.

Malvern to Armadale return (7 km / 9,200 steps)

Intermediate. Easily-accessible paths. Suitable for all skill levels.

This walk takes you along some local shops along Glenferrie Road, High Street and Armadale business precincts.

Then it will take you to some of our most remarkable sports reserves: Orrong Romanis and Toorak Park.

On the way back, you can walk along Hawksburn shops and then walk down along Williams Road to High Street. Take the short cut walking along Hampden Road to finish at Malvern Central Shopping Centre.

Ardrie Park to Caulfield Racecourse return (8 km / 10,000 steps)

Intermediate. Good fitness is required. Suitable for all skill levels.

This walk takes you from Ardrie Park to the amazing Djerring Trail, passing through East Caulfield Reserve to get to Caulfield Racecourse Reserve, where you will be able to walk through racecourse tunnels to access the facilities that this reserve has to offer.

Chapel Street to Fawkner Park (8 km / 10,000 steps)

Intermediate level walk. Good fitness is required, and easily accessible paths.

This walk takes you down the famous Chapel St and South Yarra shopping precincts to experience the wide variety of retail shops, restaurants and cafés that Prahran and South Yarra have to offer.

Malvern Village to Toorak Village to Hawksburn Village return (8 km / 10,000 steps)

Intermediate. Easily-accessible paths. Suitable for all skill levels.

Start the journey by walking along Malvern Village shops and then heading up to Sir Robert Menzies Reserve to walk along Toorak Road.

Grab a coffee from one of the local shops at Toorak Village and walk back coming down along Williams Road to start your way
back walking along Malvern Road.

Sir Robert Menzies Reserve to Fawkner Park return (12 km / 15,000 steps)

Intermediate level walk. Good fitness is required, and easily accessible paths.

This 12km walk takes you from Kooyong to South Yarra. Start the walk at Sir Robert Menzies Reserve, along the way you can grab a coffee or a bite to eat from the famous Toorak Village. Continue to Fawkner Park to rest and relax in the beautiful surroundings.

On your way back, you will pass through Chapel St, where you can get a drink to help fuel you for the walk home.

Como Park to Prahran Square return (10 km / 13,000 steps)

Intermediate level walk. Good fitness is required.

Walking around some of the most remarkable sports reserves in our city and passing through the new cultural and recreational heart of Prahran, Prahran Square.

Don't miss the opportunity to walk through Prahran Market and get some hydration for your walk back.
