Volunteer leaders play a vital role in supporting both volunteers and the wider community. Council partners with volunteer leaders across Stonnington to promote their opportunities and offer networking and capacity-building support.

Advertise your volunteer opportunities

To support our community groups and non-profits in obtaining, retaining, and celebrating volunteers, the City of Stonnington promotes awareness of volunteering opportunities to the people in our community through the publication of local volunteering opportunities.

You can list your volunteer organisation to promote volunteer opportunities on our website. All you need to do is create a MyCity account, add your organisation listing and then once assessed and approved, your volunteer organisation will appear on the page.

Join the Connect and Discover Network

The Connect and Discover Network is a valuable space for connection, collaboration, and sharing ideas with peers working in the local community sector. 

Meeting every two months at various locations across Stonnington, the Network is open to representatives from community organisations and groups that provide services in the area.

Through their not-for-profit law program, JusticeConnect provides legal advice, information and training for not-for-profit organisations. JusticeConnect work to reduce red tape and improve the legal framework for community organisations.

Pro Bono Australia

Pro Bono shares news, careers and resources to help purpose-driven people and organisations grow their impact. Pro Bono provides an online hub for people who want to know more about the national community sector.

Southeast Volunteers provide end-to-end recruitment service, networking opportunities and training for volunteers and organisations located in Stonnington, Monash, City of Casey and the City of Greater Dandenong.  

Volunteering Australia

Volunteering Australia is the national peak body for volunteering, working to advance volunteering in the Australian community. Volunteering Australia shares research into the state of volunteering in Australia and provides access to educational resources. 

Victorian State Government

There is a range of helpful publications and resources on the State Government website that support the Victorian not-for-profit community sector to strengthen capacity, governance and sustainability.

Volunteering Victoria

Volunteering Victoria is the peak state body for volunteering in the state, dedicated to advocacy, sector development and the promotion of volunteering. Their comprehensive Volunteering Guides offer practical tools and resources to support best practices in volunteer engagement, leadership and program development.
