Mothers Day: Viennese Morning Tea

Eventbrite-Banner-3

Duldig Studio invites you to celebrate Mother's day with us.

Enjoy a delicious morning or afternoon tea in the Studio's gallery with our new exhibition Drawn from the Collection: Highlights and Hidden Gems. It features stunning artworks not exhibited before.

This exhibition showcases the diversity of art forms, style and materials used by Karl and Slawa in creating powerful bodies of modernist work. These communicate stories and ideas about family life, World War 2, displacement, resilience, and survival through art.

You can see the art works, sculptures and authentic Viennese heritage rooms of the artists' home. This unique art gallery, house museum, sculpture garden and studio tells the story of the Duldig's creative lives. This includes their meeting as art students in Vienna, their dramatic escape to Singapore, and their remarkable recovery in Melbourne where they became significant cultural influencers.

The museum celebrates the life of these two artists. Mother’s Day tours will focus on Slawa Horowitz-Duldig – mother, artist, designer, teacher and inventor of the modern foldable umbrella. Throughout the museum visitors can engage with Slawa’s story through works of art, photographs, domestic settings and archival material.
