The Toorak/South Yarra Library renovation is now complete.
The works were completed in stages to improve accessibility, maintain the building and create a more welcoming space for visitors.
Accessibility improvements
We upgraded the library lift and made improvements to the front entrance to make the library easier to access for everyone.
Façade remediation works
We repainted the library building and completed window caulking repairs.
The accessibility works were completed between April and September 2024.
The library was temporarily closed from mid-December 2025 to early January 2026 to allow painting to be completed safely and protect the wellbeing of visitors and staff.
