Stonnington Connect and Discover Network Training: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

This session aims to engage the participants in a reflective dialogue, and it will create a safe space for attendees to challenge their own ideas and understanding of the topic.

The session will focus on:

  • Understanding diversity
  • Multicultural awareness in practice
  • Principles of equity and fairness both in law and everyday practice
  • Inclusive practice: what it means and how it applies to everyday interactions with others
  • Understanding intersectionality – people are not one dimensional
  • Understanding privilege and bias
  • Tokenism, stereotyping, and pigeon holing

This interactive workshop will support the participants to identify and capture important information and tell the story about their project or activity and it will cover:

  • Understanding the value of an evaluation framework
  • How to ensure your goals and objectives are met and what the indicators are
  • Why funding bodies expect evaluation reports
  • Critical information and data collection methods and tools
  • How to tell the story to the community and the funding body
  • Reflective evaluation
  • Linkages to future projects or initiatives

Volunteering Victoria runs public training workshops year round on a number of issues related to managing volunteers effectively.
