Amendment summary

Amendment C316ston implemented the recommendations of the Malvern Heritage Review on a permanent basis.

The Malvern Heritage Review is the first suburb-by-suburb review in the municipal wide Stonnington Heritage Review.

The review forms part of Council’s broader suburb-by-suburb review program that was developed in response to the Stonnington Heritage Strategy and Action Plan 2018-2029.

The City of Stonnington’s current heritage information for Malvern has developed since the early 1990s, and needs to be reviewed and update in line with current best practice.

Amendment C316ston amends the Stonnington Planning Scheme to implement the recommendations of the Malvern Heritage Review. Specifically, the amendment implemented:

  • Apply the Heritage Overlay to 14 individual places and 4 precincts on a permanent basis.
  • Amend and update Heritage Overlay controls for 25 individual places and 3 precincts, including the removal properties, changes in gradings, additional controls, changes to names and addresses, and changes to curtilage boundaries, where necessary.
  • Delete the Neighbourhood Character Overlay - Schedule 5 (NCO5) from properties on Dixon Street, Armadale in order to necessitate the application of the Dixon Street Precinct (HO688).
