Community Safety and Chapel Street Taskforce
Purpose
The Community Safety and Chapel Street Taskforce is an advisory committee established in May 2025 for a period up to twelve months to provide advice to Council on community safety matters, oversee specific community safety initiatives and develop further actionable strategies to address community safety issues in Stonnington.
The Taskforce was established in response to concerns about community safety and has a particular focus on the Chapel Street precinct.
Membership
The taskforce comprises three Councillors, with the following organisations also invited to nominate a representative:
- Victoria Police
- Department of Families, Fairness and Housing
- Liquor Forum
- Launch Housing
- Salvation Army Street Team
- South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA)
- Alfred Health
- Better Health Network
