Disability Advisory Committee
Purpose
The Disability Advisory Committee provides Council with advice on matters relating to people with disability, their families and carers who live, work, study or visit the City of Stonnington. Committee members also provide feedback on the progress of the City of Stonnington Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2023-2026.
The objectives of the Committee are to:
- provide advice on relevant Council policy
- act as a consultative mechanism and advisory panel
- promote awareness of access and inclusion issues
- identify systemic discrimination
- suggest ways of effectively engaging people living with disability
- strengthen understanding of access and inclusion issues
- advocate on behalf of people living with disability from our diverse community
Membership
The Disability Advisory Committee has one Councillor representative who is the Chair of the committee, and 11 independent members living in the City of Stonnington who meet at least one of the following categories:
- People with disability
- Carers for someone with disability
- Representatives from local disability agencies

The Disability Advisory Committee terms of reference was adopted on 17 November 2025.
