In line with Council's commitment to improve lighting at parks and sports grounds, and reduce energy consumption, a program of lighting upgrades are planned at parks and sports grounds across the city.

Lighting improvements are planned for:

  • Orrong Romanis Reserve, Prahran
  • Central Park, Malvern East

 Scope of works

Upgrade electrical supply

Remove existing floodlights (x8)

Excavate footings and connection pits

Boring for electrical cables

Install new LED floodlights (x6)

 

The City of Stonnington is upgrading the floodlighting at Orrong Romanis Reserve. The number of light poles will reduce from eight to six, and the lights will be upgraded to energy efficient LED. The improved lighting will comply to the standard required for rugby training and competition, and be suitable community recreation activities.

The Orrong Romanis Reserve floodlighting is being redeveloped by the City of Stonnington in partnership with the Victorian Government. This $671,000 project is jointly funded by the Victorian Government and City of Stonnington.
