Wadsworth Batting Cage Upgrade

In partnership with the Victorian Government, the City of Stonnington is upgrading the batting cages at Wadsworth Baseball Field on Sir Zelman Cowen Reserve in Kooyong.

This is a popular practice facility used by the Malvern Baseball Club. The current batting cage is in poor condition and presents safety concerns for park users and players.

January 2026 - construction update

Due to unforeseen delays, construction of the batting cage is taking longer than expected. We now expect to complete the works in February/March 2026 and thank you for your patience.

January 2025 - construction commencing

November 2024 - completion date extended

Consultation on the proposed upgrade of the Wadsworth Field batting cage occurred in late-2017, with the proposed upgrade attracting 98 per cent support.
