How to register
Complete the application
Download and complete the Register a Pool or Spa application(PDF, 127KB)
Gather required documents
You will need to provide a document that includes the date the pool or spa was constructed. This may include a building permit.
If the document doesn’t include the construction date, we will charge an extra search fee of $50.70.
Submit your application
You can submit your application with the required documents online. Select ‘Registration - Pool and Spa (existing or new pool/spa)’ from the list.
You will need a debit or credit card to pay the registration fee.

If you’re unable to register online, you can complete the application and submit it:
- In person: bring your application and required documents to our service centre. You can pay the registration fee on the day.
- By email: email your application and required documents to council@stonnington.vic.gov.au. Our team will contact you to collect payment after your application been received.
- By mail: send your application, required documents and cheque to:

Lodge your Certificate of Barrier Compliance (form 23)
After you have submitted your registration, you will need to lodge a Certificate of Barrier Compliance (form 23).
You can lodge your Certificate of Barrier Compliance (form 23) online after having your pool or spa inspected by a registered inspector or surveyor.
