In most cases, you need to own the home to make changes to your Council waste service. This is because a change may require a waste charge adjustment on the rates notice.

You can submit a request to order a new or extra bin, change the size of a bin, or start a new bin service.

The process for ordering bins depends on whether you live in a single-unit dwelling or multi-unit dwelling.

Waste service fees

When you start or change a waste service, there may be two separate costs:

• An administration fee to make the change, like delivering or taking away a bin.
• A charge on your rates notice.

We don’t charge anything for our recycling bins or service. Each property can have no more than two recycling bins.
