Whether you’re a conservation volunteer, an everyday person with a passion for sustainability or looking to kick start a career in sustainability: Nature Stewards is for you! 

This program focusses on the KooyongKoot (Gardiners Creek) and the plants, animals and geology of the areas it touches.

Join like-minded people on this 10-week journey covering:

  • First Peoples Culture and Place
  • ecosystems throughout Victoria
  • geology and soils
  • plant and animal life
  • waterways and wetlands
  • seasons and climate change.

Eligibility: Ages 18+

Applications close: Sunday 29 March 2026

Time commitment

  • Classes: 10 weekly sessions, 9.30am–12.30pm every Saturday
  • Field trips: Several 4-hour excursions after selected classes
  • Schedule: Saturdays from 11 April to 27 June 2026 (excluding public holidays).

Nature Stewards is delivered in partnership with Whitehorse and Monash councils and the Victorian National Parks Association (VNPA).
