Breathe, move and speak workshop (Friday)

Some of us have to speak for long periods of time and make it sound interesting!

Stage actors have tricks to help them with stamina and tonality – using the breath and body to support the voice. Your facilitator will share tips on how to apply these techniques to speaking in everyday life.

Participants have cited improved confidence, self-awareness and relaxation after these sessions.

You'll learn methods and practices to help with:

  • stamina – being comfortable with different volumes, speaking for longer durations
  • resonance – modulation and tonality
  • articulation – clarity and languages.

Activities will include:

  • breathing – ways to breathe deeper and improve breath capacity to support the voice
  • physical movement – support a clear passage for the voice
  • working out facial muscles – help words come out easily
  • speaking something short to see immediate applications.

These exercises also calm the nervous system!

You will take home:

  • exercises to improve vocal quality
  • suggestions for specific situations (if requested).
