2025 Duldig Lecture on Sculpture

The Duldig Studio is honoured to present the 2025 Annual Duldig Lecture on Sculpture, featuring distinguished curator and scholar Judith Ryan AM.

Judith Ryan has shaped the field of Indigenous Australian art through her curatorial work at the National Gallery of Victoria and beyond. A Member of the Order of Australia, she was appointed to the AIATSIS Council in 2020. Judith is currently Senior Curator, Art Museums & Collections, University of Melbourne, and is the co-curator with Professor Marcia Langton AO and Shanysa McConville of 65,000 Years: A Short History of Australian Art.

The evening will open with an introduction by Dr Alison Inglis, Honorary Fellow in Art History and Art Curatorship at the University of Melbourne, whose work bridges nineteenth-century art and the evolving story of Australian cultural institutions.

Inaugurated in 1986, the Annual Duldig Lecture on Sculpture commemorates the creative legacy of sculptor Karl Duldig and artist-inventor Slawa Horowitz-Duldig, celebrating sculpture’s enduring spirit across cultures and generations.
