First Queer Iftar Ramadan 2026

You are warmly invited to join Queer Muslim Naarm’s First Queer Iftar of 2026 in the vibrant neighbourhood of South Yarra.

As we welcome Ramadan together, we are creating an inclusive and affirming space to gather to break fast, connect, and celebrate. Our Iftar is open to everyone, whether you identify as Muslim, culturally Muslim, a Queer Muslim ally, or someone who wants to share in the tradition of breaking fast and celebrating community.

This Iftar, we’ll be offering a rich and delicious spread inspired by Middle Eastern and North African cuisines, featuring authentic savoury dishes and sweet treats that reflect the warmth and generosity of our traditions.

This is a community celebration of culture, faith, and belonging. We invite you to bring a halal dish to share if you’re able, adding your flavours and traditions to our collective table. As we gather to break bread, we’ll share stories, laughter, reflection, and joy.

Join us for a meaningful evening of connection, celebration, and reflection. We truly can’t wait to see you. Your presence will make this gathering even more special.

Thank you for supporting us in making this event organised, safe, and enjoyable for our whole community

Queer Muslim Naarm is a vibrant collective fostering a supportive and inclusive community for Queer Muslims and their allies. Through gatherings like our Queer Iftars, we create spaces to celebrate diverse traditions, share lived experiences, and build meaningful connections. Our work aims to reduce isolation at the intersection of faith, culture, and sexuality, while promoting belonging, dialogue, and mutual support.

We acknowledge that this gathering takes place on the lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
