Nature after dark tour – City Nature Challenge 2026

Join us for a magical nighttime tour of Glen Iris Wetlands as part of the 2026 City Nature Challenge.

This immersive event offers a rare glimpse into some of the smallest creatures that come alive in our city after dark and is an opportunity to explore one of Stonnington’s biodiversity gems – the Glen Iris Wetlands.

Activities include:

  • A guided twilight walk through the beautiful landscape of the wetlands with an expert Council horticulturalist.
  • Moth and insect spotlighting with entomologist Dr Luis Mata to discover some of our tiny nocturnal neighbours.

What to bring:

  • A smartphone or camera to make observations using the free iNaturalist app.
  • Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
  • A torch or headlamp.
