Writeability Goes Local

Writeability.jpg
Writers with disability from the Stonnington, Kingston and Bayside local government areas are invited to attend our free Writeability Goes Local creative writing workshops, presented as part of Writers Victoria’s acclaimed Writeability Goes Local program.

This program aims to remove some of the barriers that have traditionally prevented people with disability from connecting with writing and publishing.

In one workshop each month between December 2025 and March 2026, we’ll provide the tools and information to support creative people with disability who want to tell their own stories in their own way.

Join experienced writing mentor Ruby Hillsmith as she explores how language, writing and self-told stories help to transform ways of thinking about the self, disability and community.

This program is open to writers with all levels of experience.

Join four writing sessions held on a Wednesday from 10am - 12pm:
  • 3 December 2025, Toorak/South Yarra Library
  • 11 February 2026, Sandringham Library
  • 28 January 2026, Cheltenham Library
  • 18 March 2026, Toorak/South Yarra Library

Please note the different venues for the workshops.
