Apply for an animal registration refund

You can apply for a partial refund of your registration fee if your pet is:

  • deceased (before 10 October of the current registration period)
  • no longer residing in Stonnington (before 10 October of the current registration period)
  • desexed (before 10 October of the current registration period or within 6 months of initial registration).

Your refund will not include the State Government levy of $4.39.

How to apply

Prepare your application

You will need to provide:

  • reason for your refund
  • your pet's details including their Animal ID/Tag Number
  • the date of your last registration payment
  • your pet's new address (if moving to a new municipality)
  • details of the bank account where you want your refund issued. 

Apply online

  • select ‘Animal Registration’ in the drop-down under Refund Details
  • follow the prompts.
