Ordering a bin for your household 

To order a new, additional or resized garbage, recycling or food and garden waste bin:

  1. Complete a Waste Collection Services application(PDF, 222KB) (fees may apply)
  2. Lodge your application:
  • Via email: Customer Services team
  • By post: PO Box 58, Malvern 3144
  • Deliver: Stonnington Service Centre - 311 Glenferrie Road, Malvern.                     

Please note: application fees apply for most garbage and food and green waste bin requests, and a change to a service will result in a change to the annual garbage and food and green waste charges levied in your rates. Changes to your recycling service are free of charge.

Food and green waste bins for apartments

Owners corporations or managing agents can request food and green waste bins on behalf of apartments. The owners corporation will be invoiced for the bins, not the individual property owners.

Subscribe as an owner corporation

Step 1 : Register

Register online for an eServices account.

Please register using the owners’ corporation management company details, including the generic email address of the company.

After registering, we’ll send your eServices account login to the nominated email address within two business days. 

Step 2 : Apply

  1. Login to your eServices account.
  2. Complete the online Food and Green Waste bin application.

You will need the contact details and your owners’ corporation number.

What if the apartment building already has a food and green waste bin?

If your apartment building has a food and green waste bin that is paid through an individual property owner's rates, and you wish to swap to a bin through the owners corporation, the property owner will need to cancel their existing service.

To cancel the service email our Customer Services team or send your request in writing addressed to City of Stonnington, PO Box 58, Malvern 3144.

An online application through the owners corporation would also need to be lodged.
