Retracing Stonnington’s Queer Footprints
Join us for the official live launch of Retracing Stonnington’s Queer Footprints.
Celebrate and explore Stonnington’s incredible rainbow history this Midsumma. Take a tour significant local landmarks, venues and spaces, guided by prominent voices from the local queer community.
Queer-ways hosts LUCIANO and George Keats will guide you to key locations of queer significance throughout Stonnington.
Community voices such as cabaret diva Dolly Diamond, Angela Bailey from the Australian Queer Archives and John Hall from Thorne Harbour Health will share moving stories of community, connection, celebration and loss from across the LGBTQIA+ community.
We encourage you to bring a mobile device and headphones, as the tour will incorporate recorded elements from community guest speakers, and music from the Melbourne Rainbow Band.
The tour will have a rest stop at Chapel Off Chapel, where you can enjoy a song performed by Dolly Diamond with free refreshments.
