Malvern Early Learning Childcare Centre (MELCC) 50th Anniversary

Malvern Early Learning Childcare Centre (MELCC) is in 2025 celebrating its 50th year since its inception. Originally started in 1975 as a childcare facility catering to parents working at a dairy off Wattletree Road, the centre moved to its present location on Llaneast St just off Glenferrie Road after a couple of years and began to accept children from the general public.

We are keen to hear stories and experiences from "alumni" over the centre's lifetime - the many of parents and children who have passed through the doors and gone on to explore the big wide world.

Our celebrations include a fundraising push in the month of October to raise money for much needed capital works - we are planning to replace a dirt and bark chip play area with soft artificial grass for the children to run around and have fun on.

To raise money for fundraising, the children and parents are taking part in the Melbourne Mini-Marathon on October the 11th 2025. This 1km fun run will excite and energise little bodies and help spearhead our money-raising efforts.

There will also be a social function at MELCC as part of this celebration, incorporating food and drink, all present and former members, and interested members of the public are encouraged to attend, details will follow.
