Our Council Plan 2021-2025 identifies key advocacy priorities of:
- Sustainable growth and development, while protecting our unique character and liveability
- Deliver and advocate for sustainable and enjoyable pedestrian, cycling and public transport options to enable our 20-minute neighbourhoods, and
- Support and advocate for the health and wellbeing of those in our community.
Our Advocacy Plan 2024-26(PDF, 341KB) identifies key advocacy priorities of:

- Place-based investment, Housing, and achieving outcomes for our activity centres
- Waste and Net Zero, and
- Philanthropy, Sponsorships, Partnerships, and funding assistance

Election Commitments – Federal Election 2025
Thanks to advocacy from the City of Stonnington, we have secured commitments for the following projects in our municipality, which will provide welcome upgrades and amplify funding from Council:
- $100,000 from Dr Katie Allen, Liberal candidate for Chisholm, to upgrade the women’s toilet facilities at the Phoenix Park Community Centre
- $120,000 from Benson Saulo, Liberal candidate for Macnamara, for CCTV cameras on Chapel Street in Windsor to promote community safety
- $160,000 from Amelia Hamer, Liberal candidate for Kooyong, towards the construction of an accessibility ramp to access Stonnington History Centre
- $200,000 from Amelia Hamer, Liberal candidate for Kooyong, towards upgrading the Sir Robert Menzies Pavilion, a historic sporting and community centre
- $304,000 from Amelia Hamer, Liberal candidate for Kooyong, towards upgrading the playground facilities at Brookville Kindergarten in Stonnington
- $4.1 million from Dr Katie Allen, Liberal candidate for Chisholm, to amplify Council’s $1.2 million investment in the East Malvern Tennis Club, to replace the clubhouse and provide much-needed surface and accessibility improvements to the courts
- $4.3 million from Josh Burns MP, Labor candidate for Macnamara, to contribute to a Council purchase of the Windsor Community Children's Centre site from Swinburne University
- $400,000 from Amelia Hamer, Liberal candidate for Kooyong, to floodlight the Malvern Cricket Ground and improve safety and sporting outcomes for our community
- $500,000 from Dr Katie Allen, Liberal candidate for Chisholm, to floodlight Waverley Oval and improve safety and sporting outcomes for our community
- $800,000 from Amelia Hamer, Liberal candidate for Kooyong, towards the upgrade of lighting facilities at Birrell Little League Field and Wadsworth Baseball Field, both located in Sir Zelman Cowen Park
- Sonya Semmens, Greens candidate for Macnamara has pledged to push for $12 million in Federal funding from the Government to keep Windsor Community Children’s Centre open.
