Cyber security workshop for entrepreneurs and business owner
This hand-on workshop is designed to raise cybersecurity awareness among small business owners and freelancers and encourage the use of practical, low-cost solutions to mitigate risk.
It offers practical advice and strategies to protect digital assets, avoid cyber threats, and promote safer online habits.
No technical background is required for this workshop.
This workshop will cover:
- Introduction to Cybersecurity
- Common Attacks & Scams
- Threats Facing Small Businesses
- Securing Devices and Data
- Internet and Social Media Safety
Participants will learn to:
- recognise threats like business email compromise
- identify and respond to phishing and social engineering attacks
- develop secure online habits (eg strong passwords, multi-factor authentication)
This seminar is suitable for:
- small business owners and managers
- aspiring business owners
- freelancers, solopreneurs and sole traders
- Individuals with little or no cybersecurity experience
This workshop is presented by the City of Stonnington, and Holmesglen Institute subject matter experts, supported by Holmesglen Self-Employment Assistance.
