How to register a new pet
Prepare your documents
Before you start the registration process, make sure you have the following:
- Proof of microchipping: A document showing your pet's microchip details.
- Proof of desexing (for cats): If you're registering a car, you'll need to provide a desexing certificate, unless your car is exempt.
- Documents for reduced fees (if applicable): This might include proof of purchase from an animal welfare organisation, previous council registration, or obedience training certificates.
